Cookie Policy

This website uses no cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking. Most pages load nothing from another company. The exceptions are the pages that show the RISE Chart: the homepage, the RISE page, the artists page, each artist's page and the news page read the live chart from our database provider, Supabase, and when you press Vote on the RISE page or on an artist's page, a short check from Cloudflare loads to confirm you are a person. This page explains everything saved in your browser, and what happens when you choose to play a video or a song. It applies to both the English and the Portuguese versions of every page.

What we save in your browser

lnks-theme: Stored in localStorage and kept until you clear it. Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. Only set when you press the theme button.
lnks-bio-lang: Stored in localStorage and kept until you clear it. Remembers whether you chose English or Portuguese for artist biographies. Only set when you press EN or PT.
sb-weyveugjzjkahhknnxcr-auth-token: Stored in localStorage until you sign out. Keeps you signed in to vote on RISE. Only set when you sign in with Google.
sb-weyveugjzjkahhknnxcr-auth-token-code-verifier: Stored in localStorage while you sign in with Google, together with two helper keys that start with the same name (sb-weyveugjzjkahhknnxcr-auth-token-flow and sb-weyveugjzjkahhknnxcr-auth-token-flows). They are removed once the sign in finishes. They protect the sign in from being taken over.
lnks_rise_ticket: Stored in localStorage until you clear it. A random code that limits each device to one voting account per day. It contains nothing about you. Only set when you vote.
lnks-warp: Stored in sessionStorage and removed as soon as the next page opens. Plays the city transition on the careers map. Only set when you click a city.
lnks-artist-enter: Stored in sessionStorage and removed as soon as the next page opens. Holds the name of the artist page you are opening, so that page can finish the entrance animation. Only set when you click a link to an artist's page.
lnks-rise-intro: Stored in sessionStorage and removed as soon as the RISE page opens. Holds the time you pressed RISE in the main menu, so the RISE page plays its short intro. Only set when you press RISE in the menu.
lnks-news-intro: Stored in sessionStorage and removed as soon as the news page opens. Holds the time you pressed News in the main menu, so the news page plays its short intro. Only set when you press News in the menu.

Anything kept in sessionStorage is also cleared when you close the tab. The theme, biography language and page transition settings stay on your device and are never sent to us or to anyone else. The sign in keys and the voting code are sent only to our vote checker at Supabase, when you are signed in or when you vote, so that it can confirm who is voting and apply the one vote a day rules.

The RISE chart and the vote check

The homepage, the RISE page, the artists page, each artist's page and the news page read the live RISE Chart from Supabase, and refresh it every 15 seconds while the page is open. Supabase receives only the request for the chart, and your sign in if you are signed in. When you choose to sign in, you are taken to Google's sign in page and brought back to the page you were on.

When you press Vote on the RISE page or on an artist's page, a check from Cloudflare Turnstile loads from challenges.cloudflare.com. It looks at signals such as your IP address and browser to tell people from programs. Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy terms apply to that check.

Videos and song previews

Some artist pages include YouTube videos and song previews. Nothing is loaded from YouTube or Apple until you press play.

YouTube videos on the pages of Duda Marcolino, Núria Nadiana, Txoboy Banzelo and Voto Gonçalves load from youtube-nocookie.com, Google's privacy enhanced service, only when you press play. Once the video loads, Google may set its own cookies or storage under its own privacy policy.
Song previews on the pages of Kelly Silva and Voto Gonçalves are 30 second previews from Apple Music. They stream from Apple (audio-ssl.itunes.apple.com) only when you press play. Apple's privacy policy applies to that request.

Links and share buttons

Links and share buttons for Instagram, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Deezer, TikTok, Facebook, X and LinkedIn are plain links, and so are the links to the sources we quote. They load nothing until you click them. Once you are on another site, its own cookie and privacy policies apply.

Everything this website stores is strictly necessary to give you something you asked for, such as your choice of light or dark mode, so the law does not require us to ask for consent and we do not show a cookie banner. If we ever add analytics or any other cookies that are not essential, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
